The Dan Upgrading Competition will be held on the 26 & 27 May 2012.
Objective: To certify and upgrade the Dan levels of weiqi players
Eligibility: All SWA members and SWA students who are Dan players or in Dan Research classes.
Category: Dan Group: Dan players and Dan Research students.
The participants must attach a copy of the proof of their Dan level and submit together with their application form. A certified proof from one of our professional coaches is also accepted. Those who fail to provide the proof must state a reason in the application form and is subject to the approval from SWA.
Date and Time: 26-May-2012 (Saturday) 12 pm ---7 pm (4 games)
27-May-2012 (Sunday) 12 pm ---7 pm (4 games)
Venue: Bishan Clubhouse @ Bishan Street 13, Bishan Community Club, #02-01
Registration: Non-SWA member $20 / SWA member $15 / 6dan players free registration

Competition Rules and Scores:
- The competition will be using the Chinese rule.
- Each player will have 45 minutes of free time.
- The Dan players will compete in handicapped games.
- Players will need to buy their existing Dan level certificate or else they cannot sign up for the Dan Upgrading competition.
- The Chief Arbiter will have the final resolution if there are any disputes in the competition.

Certificate:
The qualified upgrading players after the competition must pay a certificate fee to receive a Dan certificate from SWA; otherwise the results will be invalid. The certificate fees are given in the following table:

Life-time and ordinary members have 30% discount on Dan upgrading certificate fees. Student members will not enjoy these discounts.
