Singapore Weiqi Association Class Resumption Notice
1/28/2020 8:37 PM

Dear students, parents and teachers,

After the necessary preparations, Singapore Weiqi Association (SWA) will officially resume classes this weekend (February 14, 15, 16). In a event of a local outbreak of the Coronavirus, SWA will strictly follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Education, and provide parents and students with a safe learning environment.

The weiqi classes have been deferred for 2 weeks, and a new schedule has been uploaded. Please take note that we will continue classes in the week of the Six Trust Cup, which will be postponed. The last lesson of this semester will end on the week of May 15, 16, 17.

After much discussion and deliberation, classes of more than 8 people will be changed to online classes. Our teachers have set up the online teaching platform and will train the students before the class starts. For classes with less than 8 people, our association will operate as per normal. We will clean and disinfect club daily, register any incoming personnel, and conduct strict temperature checks. Our teachers will disinfect the classroom before and after each lesson.

Following the recommendations made by the Ministry of Education, our online lessons will continue until the end of the school holidays (end of March). Once the situation improves, we will resume our normal classes.

In the current situation, we understand that there are many concerns and we will do our best to meet the requirements of parents and students. We apologise in advance if there are unexpected problems in the transition period, and we hope you will continue to support us. Finally, we wish all parents, classmates and teachers good health and progress in the new year!
