Information on SWA’s tournaments

Singapore Weiqi Association organises more than ten tournaments per year, some of them jointly held with other organisations. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to many individuals and organisations for their financial supports. Friends who like to make contributions toward organising activities, such as tournaments etc. may contact us through email or phone.

SWA Policy on Foreign Dan Certificates (2025)

1. Foreign Dan certificates will not be directly converted into Singapore Dan certificates.

2. Additionally, they cannot be used for admission into SWA’s Dan Certification Competitions, Dan Upgrading Competitions, or any other rank-sensitive national Weiqi events.

3. Holders of foreign Dan certificates are encouraged to participate in SWA’s Dan Certification Competitions to obtain a Singapore Dan certificate and advance through the local ranking system.

4. Alternatively, such players may choose to compete in the Open Category of SWA’s National Weiqi Competitions to enjoy a fair and meaningful competitive experience.
