The Singapore Weiqi Association (SWA) invites eligible players to the December 2026 Dan Upgrading Competition. Review the details below before registering.

SWA Bishan Clubhouse
ELIGIBILITY
Participants must be SWA-certified 1 Dan, 2 Dan or 3 Dan players.
CATEGORIES
- 1-Dan Category: Saturday, 5 December 2026, 8.30am
- 2-Dan and 3-Dan Category: Sunday, 6 December 2026, 8.30am
For the 2-Dan and 3-Dan category, appropriate handicap points will be applied in games between participants of different ranks.
REGISTRATION FEE
$50 (member); $100 (non-member). All registration fees paid are non-refundable.
CAPACITY
Maximum 50 participants.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Saturday, 28 November 2026, 8pm
Promotions
On completion of the competition, promotions will be awarded as follows:
- Top 20% of participants in each category: promoted to the next Dan rank.
Rules and format
- Five Round Swiss System.
- 25 minutes main time, with an additional 10 seconds per move.
- The Arbiter will make the final decision in any dispute.
- The organisers reserve the right to amend the rules stated above.
