SWA 45th Anniversary Celebrity Challenge
As part of the Singapore Weiqi Association’s 45th Anniversary celebrations, the SWA will be hosting the SWA 45th Anniversary Celebrity Challenge on Saturday, 4 July 2026, from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm, at the Bishan Clubhouse (3 Bishan Street 14, Singapore 579780).
Up to 100 participants will be selected to take part in this unique event, where they will have the rare opportunity to challenge a distinguished line-up of Weiqi personalities representing the Singapore Weiqi Association. Players will compete across the board against some of Singapore’s most accomplished Weiqi figures, including professional players, national team members, champions, and SWA trainers, in a setting that is both friendly and competitive.

Mr Chen Yihang, Pro 1 Dan – Singapore’s first local professional shodan Weiqi master
Mr James Lee, 6 Dan – President, Singapore Weiqi Association
Mr Lu Yong, 6 Dan – Vice-President, Singapore Weiqi Association
Mr Wang Jing Xiang, 6 Dan – World Inter-Collegiate Weiqi Championships Champion
Mr Kwa Jiehui, 6 Dan – 2023 Asian Games Representative (Weiqi)
Miss Xue Qiao Chu, 6 Dan – Whampoa Cup National Weiqi Championships Champion
Mr Lin Youzhi, 6 Dan – 2025 Whampoa Cup Champion
Mr Chen Yilin, 5 Dan – SWA Executive Committee Member and National Youth Team Coach
Mr Xu Xiaofan, 5 Dan – National Team Member, ranked 7th at the World Amateur Go Championship
Mr Chen Yihan, 5 Dan – National Team Member and Nanyang Cup Southeast Asia Champion

Participants will be allocated to play against the celebrities on the day of the event. This challenge is suitable for players who wish to test their skills, gain experience against high-level opposition, and be part of SWA’s 45th Anniversary celebrations.
